Jessica Welsh joined Lawrenceville in 2020 as the Director of Communications and External Relations and is a member of the senior leadership team. In this role, Welsh leads strategic communications for external and internal audiences and oversees public relations and crisis communications, publications, social media, website, videography, photography, and branding efforts, partnering with various offices on campus to advance the School's overall positioning. She serves on the Crisis Response Team and Enrollment Management Team, in addition to multiple committees. She also is a guest lecturer in Lawrenceville classes on entrepreneurship and leadership.
Welsh came to Lawrenceville from The Haverford School, a pre-k-12 school for boys where she served as the Director of Marketing and Communications. There, she was charged with advancing the school’s mission, ensuring cohesive identity in branding and messaging, and employing measurable programs to generate interest and engagement among prospective families, current families, alumni, and friends of the School. She chaired the cross-departmental Marketing Task Force and served on the Strategic Plan 2020-25 Steering Committee.
Previously, Welsh was Director of Marketing and Communications at The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She began her career at a marketing public relations agency in Atlanta, where she specialized in crisis communications and strategic communications planning. She has held several consulting roles for clients in the healthcare, nonprofit, education, and real estate industries. Welsh earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
