  • Title: The Enrollment Office and the Business Office: Perfecting the Partnership Dance

In independent schools, the enrollment and business offices often share the same floor yet move to different rhythms. This session explores how these two essential teams can better understand each other’s perspectives to strengthen collaboration, improve financial and strategic outcomes, and enhance the overall student and family experience. Drawing on insights from leaders in both areas, we’ll discuss when to lead, when to follow, and how to avoid stepping on each other’s toes.

12:00 pm - Lunch & Roundtables

1:00 pm -  Keynote, Anita Harper, COO, Mission Enrollment

  • Topic: Capital Region Reality: Appeals, Mid-Year, and Late Requests in a Shifting Workforce

As the school year winds down and the peak financial aid season is behind you, this is the moment to take stock and get ahead of what’s next. In the Washington, DC region, off-cycle financial aid demands often track with a workforce in motion—shifting federal priorities, contract transitions, and organizational restructuring that can quickly change a family’s financial picture. Whatever the catalyst, late requests, reconsideration appeals, and mid-year updates don’t wait for the next cycle; they keep arriving after decisions are communicated. Without clear guardrails, they can drain capacity, introduce inconsistency, and pressure budgets. This presentation offers a structured, trend-informed approach to the “in-between”—what to review and put in place now to triage requests, apply consistent criteria, refine policy, and communicate with care. The result is a repeatable way to stay responsive to real circumstances while protecting institutional priorities and keeping equity, sustainability, and mission at the center of every decision.
