Since 2014, Nija Majmudar Meyer has been a transformative leader at Woodward Academy, spearheading strategic marketing and communications initiatives for this PK-12 independent school with an enrollment of 2,685 and 60% students of color. In this role, Nija has masterfully shared the school's vibrant story with a diverse array of stakeholders, from prospective families to alumni, through the strategic deployment of channels including the Academy’s website, biannual magazine publication, digital platforms, advertising, social media, and public relations. In recognition of her exemplary leadership, Nija's responsibilities expanded in 2017 to include Admissions and Financial Aid. As Vice President for Enrollment Management, she balances the imperatives of driving enrollment growth, optimizing the student body, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and generating net revenue for long-term financial sustainability.
Beyond her contributions to Woodward, Nija is a respected voice in the educational community, frequently sharing her insights and expertise at industry-leading conferences and webinars including EMA, NAIS, SAIS, AISAP, Niche, Veracross, Gravyty, INDEX, and TV Asia, among others. Her presentations and panels have inspired meaningful dialogue and helped to drive positive change across the educational landscape. In 2022, Nija received the prestigious Enrollment Management Association's (EMA) Rising Star Award, honoring educators who have distinguished themselves and/or their schools in the field of enrollment management. She was chosen for exemplifying a passion for admission work and a devotion to service; modeling inspiration, commitment, and integrity; and making a contribution to the effectiveness, success, and future of admissions in independent schools across the country.
Prior to Woodward, Nija honed her strategic acumen in marketing and consulting roles at The Coca-Cola Company, Andersen Consulting's Strategic Services, and GE Capital. She graduated first in her class with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Emory University, receiving the BBA Award for Academic Excellence, the highest honor given by the business school, as well as the 'Most Outstanding Student in Marketing' award. In 1992, she earned a master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Nija's achievements and commitment to excellence continue to inspire and drive her leadership in the field of enrollment management and beyond.
