How do our admission processes constrain our ability to evaluate students holistically? Beyond conventional metrics like grades and scores, what additional data can we integrate to understand students and their families comprehensively? Through an interactive examination of candidate profiles, workshop participants will discover varied ways of assessing prospective candidates. By critically analyzing traditional evaluation methods, attendees will develop tools to identify and mitigate biases inherent in these assessments, crafting more inclusive admissions processes. Drawing upon nearly five decades of talent identification and placement expertise, representatives from Prep for Prep will share insights gleaned from their work with qualified, mission-aligned BIPOC students and families, shedding light on the systemic challenges we face today.
