Small schools face resource constraints and challenges in how to most effectively structure their teams to work toward furthering the mission and vision of their school. This process is informed by the context of their organization, external influences and their team, often complicated by ambiguous or overlapping skill sets, job responsibilities, and the day-to-day realities of school life. We will use the experience we gained restructuring our Advancement team as a case study and will provide models, strategies and guiding questions that other schools can use to go through a similar exercise to examine their own structures to create ways to work together more collaboratively and inclusively.
