Language should not be a barrier. The purpose of this presentation is to gain a better understanding of the importance of communication, translation, and cultural differences of Spanish-dominant families. Crossroads School’s Office of Affordability partners with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to work toward creating a more culturally responsive financial aid process for applicants and current families. The outcomes of this partnership have improved the transparency of the financial aid process, increased reach and access, created stronger relationships with families, and built trust. We will share our framework and provide examples of communication for new applicants and our support structure for current families.
