Keenan A.K. Kurihara is a distinguished leader in enrollment management and strategic communications within the independent school sector. Currently the Director of Enrollment Management at Flintridge Preparatory School, he previously served as the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Chief Communications Officer at La Salle College Preparatory in Pasadena, California and as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kurihara has been instrumental in increasing enrollment and implementing initiatives to equitably enroll mission-aligned students from diverse backgrounds.
In recognition of his contributions to the field, Kurihara received the national “Rising Star” award from the Enrollment Management Association in 2023. This honor is bestowed upon professionals with less than 10 years of experience who have made significant impacts in enrollment management and admissions.
Kurihara earned a Master of Education in Enrollment Management and Policy from the USC Rossier School of Education. His educational philosophy is deeply influenced by his Hawaiian roots and the concept of “‘ohana,” emphasizing community and belonging.
