If your school has made a serious and authentic commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, it’s time to make sure your admissions messages reflect your vision for the future and your understanding of the work ahead. Families want to hear more than your school’s statement and statistics on diversity: they want to learn how your school creates an environment of inclusivity. In this session, Mission Minded Partner and Director of Education Strategy, Romayne Levee, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisor, Tierney Yates, will briefly share Mission Minded’s experience, how wanting a diverse workplace wasn’t enough—and how taking practical steps to question every business practice through an “inclusivity lens” was the critical missing ingredient. Then, they’ll share numerous concrete examples—and teach practical steps—of how schools can shift brand commitments and key messages to signal to their communities (both existing and prospective) that authentic change is afoot.
