Cassi Lanie is in her first year serving in admissions at The McGillis School after 19 years teaching in the school community. Over nearly two decades, she has taught PE, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th-grades, bringing a dep uderstanding of children, families, and school culture to her work in enrollment. Her transition into admissions has been marked by humility, curiosity, boldness, and a commitment to learning from mentors, peers, and expereince. In her first year, she has focused on builidng stronger systems, strengethning family engagement, cultiviating trusting relationships with her head of school, faculty, and trustees in new ways, and leaning into data as a tool to understand the stories behind enrollment and to inform mission-aligned admissions work.
