Julie Galles (she/her) started her career in education over 30 years ago. After earning both a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Education from Stanford University, she taught for 15 years in independent schools in California. Moving into administration, she served as a division director and Assistant Head, and then as Head of School for two different schools. Julie and her wife, Megan, are co-founders of Chrysalis Academy, a new school designed for queer, trans, and nonbinary students in Southern CA. After speaking with many educators and mental health professionals, they also started Chrysalis Educational Consulting to address knowledge and skill gaps around gender identity development and gender inclusive practices. Julie supports schools and other organizations through faculty and staff trainings, parent education, leaadership and affinity group support, and incident management.
