Description
Financial aid is just the starting point. While scholarships and flexible aid packages are essential for gaining access to our educational institutions, they do not ensure that students feel included, valued, or a sense of belonging once they are enrolled. This session encourages participants to critically examine the assumptions and practices within their institution. Explore systems that may unintentionally create barriers for underrepresented or marginalized students and families, even after financial access has been provided. Through interactive activities, and reflective discussions, we will explore strategies that extend beyond basic support, aiming for transformative inclusion. Participants will leave with tools to design and implement more equitable systems and culturally responsive programs that foster holistic student belonging—socially, culturally, and academically.
