Description
Independent school admissions teams are increasingly expected to operate with the precision of a business office while preserving the relational heart of education. Yet few schools use structured lead qualification models to guide their work.
I propose a session exploring how admissions can borrow thoughtfully from the sales world — specifically the Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) and Sales Qualified Lead (SQL) framework — to increase conversion rates, improve forecasting, and create stronger alignment between marketing and admissions.
Proposed Session Title:
What Admissions Can Learn from Sales: Applying the MQL–SQL Model to Drive Enrollment Results
In this session, I will share:
Why traditional admissions funnels often lack qualification clarity
How we defined MQL and SQL criteria in a school setting
The systems, scoring, and collaboration shifts with MarComm required to operationalize the model
The measurable results we saw after implementation
Lessons learned, resistance encountered, and what we would refine
Participants will walk away with a replicable framework and concrete tools to strengthen their enrollment funnel without compromising mission or relationships.
As enrollment leaders face increasing pressure to perform with greater strategic rigor, this session offers a practical and immediately applicable model.
