Description
In an increasingly competitive and value-conscious landscape, independent schools must not only deliver exceptional educational experiences—they must also demonstrate and communicate their impact with clarity and confidence. A powerful way to do this is by tying measurable student outcomes in learning growth and well-being directly to the school’s value proposition. This session explores how academic and well-being data can illuminate student progress over time and strengthen your school’s story. Drawing on recently published research, we will examine how national data sets provide insight into student development across academic, social-emotional, and broader well-being domains in independent schools. Participants will explore how to layer their own school-level data with national trends to create a more complete and compelling narrative. This isn’t about data for data’s sake—it’s about using meaningful, mission-aligned insights to reinforce what makes your school distinct and valuable to current and prospective families, board members, and the broader community. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of current independent schools' student outcome trends, as well as practical tools for aligning those outcomes with their school’s mission, value proposition, and community communication. Learning Objectives: 1. Understand key trends in student learning growth and well-being in independent schools using school-level and national data from a sample of NAIS schools. 2. Discuss how to apply research-based insights to effectively communicate the impact of an independent school education to stakeholders. 3. Learn practical strategies for integrating student outcomes data into school storytelling, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
