Description
Strategic planning retreats are easy to hold and hard to act on. The ideas are good. The energy is real. And then everyone goes back to their jobs.
At The Field School, we built a strategic enrollment plan that didn't live in the Admission Office alone — one where every member of our senior leadership team took ownership of a piece of the enrollment puzzle connected to their domain. Using EMA's Strategic Enrollment Spectrum as our framework, the process was rooted in our school's specific identity, competitive landscape, and real, solvable problems.
The retreat was only the beginning. What followed was translating that shared commitment into a living enrollment document the Admission Office could actually work from. It's a first iteration — and we're actively building the second. This session shares that process honestly, including what we'd do differently, and leaves attendees with a framework to bring back and run at their own school.
Participants will be able to:
Identify the enrollment levers within EMA's Strategic Enrollment Spectrum most relevant to their school's current challenges
Distinguish between enrollment responsibilities that belong to Admission and those that can be owned by broader school leadership
Translate retreat takeaways into a specific, assigned, and time-bound enrollment plan the full team can work from
Discuss how institutional identity and competitive context can anchor a strategic enrollment plan in real-world, solvable problems
Illustrate how a school-wide planning process can be translated into a living, working document for the Admission Office
