Description
What if your most valuable admission insight wasn’t found in a test score or parent statement — but just down the hall? This session explores how building a strong, intentional partnership between admission professionals and classroom teachers can transform your enrollment process and student outcomes. Julie and Elaine from Pine Crest School will share how they’ve deepened collaboration between the admission office and faculty to create a more holistic, informed and responsive approach to evaluating, supporting and placing students. Learning Outcomes: Participants will: Identify ways to involve faculty in a meaningful way in the admission process without overloading them. Learn how teacher insights can improve student evaluation, placement and retention. Discover strategies to keep admission teams informed and integrated into classroom life. Return to their schools with practical ideas to strengthen communication and collaboration between departments. With real-life examples, strategies, and tools, this session will cover: Admission Testing and Benchmarks: What teachers are really looking for — academically, socially and emotionally — and how that informs admission decisions. Application Review: How teacher insights help shape application questions, and interpret student profiles Classroom Visits and Feedback: The value of reciprocal classroom observation — from admissions visiting learning spaces to teachers observing applicant class visits. Strategic Class Placement Considerations: Grouping students based on language, location, age and learning styles — how admission and faculty partner on thoughtful placement. Follow-Up After Acceptance: How to check in, flag concerns early and ensure smooth transitions for new students.
