This workshop will explore the ideation, development, and implementation of an affinity-based leadership program designed to support girls of color—one of the most marginalized and underrepresented student populations at our school. We will examine how internal enrollment and survey data were used to identify student needs, as well as how external partnerships and networks were leveraged to launch and sustain the initiative. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of supporting underrepresented students beyond the point of admission. The session will also provide strategies for using institutional data to assess student needs and for fostering cross-departmental collaboration to design creative, systemic approaches to student support.
