Date & Time
Thursday, September 24, 2026, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Description
Enrollment leaders are increasingly focused on authenticity, belonging, and meaningful connection. This session will identify how student tour guides and ambassadors can serve as one of the most powerful tools in advancing those goals. Participants will recognize the influence of student voice in shaping family perceptions and enrollment decisions, while learning to distinguish between transactional tour programs and those that intentionally build relationships and community. Through a detailed case study of a Junior Panther Guide, a Panther Guide, and a Student Ambassador model, presenters will discuss recruitment, training, leadership development, retention, and collaboration with Advancement. We will illustrate how to optimize student engagement, from application and onboarding to scheduling, accountability, and recognition, while aligning the program with institutional mission and enrollment strategy. Attendees will leave ready to plan or refine a student-centered program that elevates both the admission experience and long-term community connection. What makes our program unique: Tours Galore elective, designed specifically for 8th grade students. This course takes place in the Admission Office and focuses on developing essential soft skills through practice and real-world opportunities. Students also receive training in public speaking and ultimately learn how to lead campus tours. This program has become a valuable retention tool.
