Description
Independent schools often focus diversity and access efforts at traditional entry points like 6th or 9th grade—yet by then, many families have already been filtered out due to lack of awareness, preparation, or early access. This interactive workshop challenges that model and introduces a more effective approach: building PK–12 enrollment pipelines that begin as early as Pre-K through intentional partnerships between schools and community-based organizations. Led by a founder of New Age Prep and an admissions director turned executive director at Cypress School, this session offers a dual perspective from both sides of the enrollment ecosystem. Participants will explore how early childhood admissions differs fundamentally—where schools are enrolling families, not just students—and how current practices unintentionally limit access. Through real-world examples and structured working sessions, attendees will map where their current pipeline begins, identify gaps where families are lost, and leave with a practical framework to build sustained, equitable pathways from early childhood through high school.
