Keenan Kurihara, M.Ed., serves as the Director of Enrollment Management at Flintridge Preparatory School, a co-educational independent school founded in 1933 serving grades 7-12, located in the Los Angeles suburb of Flintridge La Cañada. As a member of the leadership team at Flintridge Prep, Keenan oversees the school’s admissions, enrollment management, student retention, financial aid, and community outreach initiatives. He began his tenure at Flintridge Prep in July 2025.
Prior to beginning his current role at Flintridge Prep in 2025, Keenan served as the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Chief Communications Officer at La Salle College Preparatory in Pasadena, CA. During his five-year tenure at La Salle, the school grew its student enrollment by over 10%, increased its year-over-year net tuition revenue by over 15%, and developed a robust and collaborative enrollment management and communications operation in the midst of challenging headwinds facing independent schools in the region and across the country. He previously served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawaii’s largest co-educational K-12 Catholic school.
Keenan is an active member of the Enrollment Management Association (EMA), serving on EMA’s Enrollment Management Leadership Council and as a four-year mentor in EMA’s peer mentoring program. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Los Angeles Chapter. Keenan has also presented at the EMA Annual Conference and the NCEA Annual Conference on strategic school collaboration, financial aid awarding strategies, and admissions marketing. In 2023, he was the recipient of the Enrollment Management Association’s national Rising Star Award in recognition of his strategic enrollment leadership and positive impact at his school and within the greater enrollment management and EMA communities.
After graduating from Maryknoll School in Hawaii, Keenan earned his bachelor of arts degree in public affairs and communications from Seattle University and his master of education degree in enrollment management and policy from the University of Southern California. He is currently pursuing his doctor of education degree in educational leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
