Mbakwe Okafor joined Concord Academy as the director of enrollment management in summer 2023.  Under his leadership, CA Admissions has moved to a student-seeking focus in its practices, policies, and programs. Before coming to Concord, Mbakwe was the associate director of admissions at Phillips Exeter Academy and served as the associate director of multicultural outreach. During his four years at Exeter, he helped create and implement the strategic plan for outreach to nontraditional families and communities. Before Exeter, he was the coordinator of multicultural recruitment at the Fessenden School in Newton, Mass., where his knowledge and collaborative spirit helped create cross-department initiatives to recruit, support, and retain families.
