Rhonda Auguste has served as the Founding Executive Director of the Wight Foundation, Inc. since June 1987. Prior to The Wight Foundation, Ms. Auguste directed the Student of Color recruitment program at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire and was a Corporate Giving Officer at The Equitable Foundation in New York City.
In 1970, Ms. Auguste immigrated to New York City from Trinidad and Tobago. Like the students she serves, Ms. Auguste earned a scholarship from Public School 208 in Harlem, U.S.A. to attend The Spence School, a private school in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. After Spence, she attended Harvard University, where she majored in Sociology and Afro-American Studies. Ms. Auguste also earned a Masters Degree in General Professions in Education from Seton Hall University. Ms. Auguste has served on the boards of The Enrollment Management Association, The National Partnership for Educational Access, The Spence School, Philip’s Academy Charter School in Newark, New Jersey, previously known as St. Philip's Academy, and New Jersey SEEDS.
