Description
Change is a constant in enrollment management and schools, but this feels different—shifting demographics, an intense political climate, increasing tuition, and rising family expectations require us to adapt quickly while maintaining clarity and care in communication. With change and uncertainty often comes high emotion and high stakes. In those moments, the conversations we lead matter more than ever. Whether discussing sensitive financial topics, responding to difficult parent questions, or navigating emotionally charged situations, enrollment professionals are called to represent the school’s mission with compassion, professionalism, and resolve. These conversations are not just about conveying information—they’re about upholding the dignity of every family while helping them navigate complex and often high-stakes scenarios. Grounded in Dr. Donna Hicks’ Dignity Framework from her book Leading with Dignity, this session will explore how recognizing, honoring, and repairing dignity can transform even the hardest conversations into opportunities for connection and trust. Participants will explore how to apply the 10 elements of dignity—including recognition, fairness, accountability, and the benefit of the doubt—to admissions and tuition-assistance dialogue. In this interactive session, Director of Admissions Joanna Lovett and Director of Tuition Assistance Andrea Richerson will co-lead a practical and reflective workshop designed to build confidence in navigating change-driven, high-stakes conversations. Participants will gain tools, language, and real-life strategies for leading with dignity during moments of challenge and change.
