The Board of Trustees, Head of School, and Director of Enrollment ‘Triumvirate’ is key to the school’s success and sustainability. Each of these stakeholders has diverse responsibilities and roles and interacts with each other in a number of important ways. Crossover is inevitable, and a healthy partnership relies heavily on trustees, the Head, and the Director leading from their respective ‘lanes’ - operational and strategic. This can often be easier said than achieved, however, and many admissions professionals have their own ‘horror stories’ detailing what can happen when the boundaries between governance and operations are not universally adhered to. In this session, the Director of Enrollment Management and Head of School will share how they developed an outstanding partnership, how they both work with each other and the Board of Trustees to ensure everyone ‘leads from the lane,’ and how this has resulted in transformative success in their school’s work to recruit and retain mission-consistent families.
