Name
Retention by Design: Engaging Faculty to Transform Retention Strategy
Date & Time
Thursday, September 18, 2025, 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Description
As enrollment professionals, we know retention is more than just numbers—it’s a reflection of community strength, parent trust, and the lived experiences of students and families. Yet, too often, retention is seen as the work of admissions offices alone. This session invites you to embrace a new, more collaborative approach to retention—one that actively engages faculty and staff by making them co-creators in the process. Based on a pre-session survey that captured their beliefs and attitudes around retention, this workshop is intentionally designed around what they said—ensuring relevance, reflection, and real-time connection to the school’s lived experience. As part of the conference theme, Embracing Change, this session challenges us to shift our lens—encouraging deliberate perspective-taking as a tool for growth. By stepping into the viewpoints of colleagues, families, and students, we begin to see retention not just as a metric, but as a shared human experience. We’ll explore how beliefs shape attitudes, and how those attitudes influence the daily decisions that make or break family experiences. Through interactive prompts, real faculty data, and practical frameworks, you'll leave with new tools for reframing retention as a shared responsibility—and a shared opportunity. Whether you're looking to build cross-functional partnerships, boost retention through better communication, or create cultural alignment from within, this session offers a fresh perspective grounded in empathy, strategy, and real change.
