Stefanie Sparks Smith, General Counsel, Episcopal High School (VA)

​​​​Stefanie currently serves as the General Counsel for Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA.  Prior to serving in this role at Episcopal, Stefanie's law practice focused on representing clients in education law, civil litigation, employment law, contract negotiations, sports law, corporate litigation, and criminal law. She has significant experience in all phases of litigation as well as serving as outside in-house counsel.  Stefanie's most notable legal experience undoubtedly comes from the investigation, prosecution, and exoneration of the Duke men’s lacrosse team during the Duke lacrosse case where she assisted in the representation of over thirty of the team members.  Following the criminal case, Stefanie was also directly responsible for managing the investigative and discovery phase for one of the resulting civil cases.

Stefanie earned her B.A. in history and political science from Duke University and her J.D. from Georgetown Law.
